What is Anticapitalist Business School?
Anticapitalist Business School is an 18-week live group program to talk about anticapitalist approaches to being self-employed. We meet on Mondays for a lecture-plus-Q&A session. On Wednesdays we’re together for a rotation of group activities; think office hours, group coaching, or social time. The 2025 session is a beta round!
What is the curriculum?
The curriculum is still in progress, but here’s a preliminary sketch.
Module 1: Anticapitalist Business Foundations: theory and practice for self-employment
Module 2: Business Models and Pricing: how to make a business that stays afloat
Module 3: Refining Your Offers, Visionary Copywriting, Non-Sucky Sales: nuts and bolts of what you’re selling
Module 4: Marketing For Weirdos: promoting your work without losing your mind
Module 5: Client Relationships, Business Boundaries, Back-End Systems: all the sticky stuff and loose ends
A couple of notes:
The modules won’t necessarily be the same length, for instance, Business Models might be 3 weeks, while Visionary Copywriting may be only 1 week. Also! Marketing for Weirdos will be open to the public, which is to say, lots of other folks will join our group for this module. All the lecture calls will be recorded, so you can stay afloat if you miss a session now and then. There will be time in the weekly group calls to get my brain (and your classmates' brains) on your business quandaries. And as always, there will be dancing.

Who is it for?
Anticapitalist Business School is for small business folks who have some experience with either being in business, thinking about anticapitalism, or both. The beta round is open to people who’ve previously worked with me, Bear Hebert!
When is Anticapitalist Business School?
August 25-December 22, 2025
1:00-2:30pm Eastern time
Every Monday: Lecture class (half teaching / half Q&A)
Every Wednesday: A rotation of office hours, collaborative brainstorming, and a social call
Maximum 24 students (so we can see each other's faces on one Zoom screen)
Minimum 12 students (so it always feels like a party)
