Solidarity Discounts
Solidarity rates are available for marginalized people with financial need, with an emphasis on prioritizing access for Black and Indigenous people of color. Solidarity discounts only available on payment plans.
I offer solidarity discounts not because I don’t need the money (I DO!) but as a commitment to anti-capitalist practices in my business.
For my own financial well-being, I need most of the people who sign up for the class to pay the full rate. Solidarity discounts are not intended for people with race-, class- or gender-based privilege, even if you’re in a moment of financial discomfort.
SOLIDARITY Options:
All of these options are combined with 5-month or 10-month payment plans.
20 percent solidarity discount:
$456 x 5 months OR $228 x 10 months
$2280 Total
50 percent solidarity discount:
$285 x 5 months OR $143 x 10 months
$1425 Total
70 percent solidarity discount:
$171 x 5 months OR $86 x 10 months
$855 Total
10 discounted spots available at each level (30 total) with 6 spots earmarked for Black and Indigenous people of color at each level (18 out of 30 total).
My commitments:
There is never a higher rate for payment plans.
I trust my students to accurately self-assess their financial need.
There are no major hoops to jump through to access the discounts.
I’m grateful for all my students, regardless of what they pay.
My requests:
Please use the discounts only if you truly need them.
If the issue is one of cash-flow, (ie, you will eventually have access to the funds to pay for class, just not all at once) please use a payment plan instead of a solidarity discount.
Please do not use the solidarity discounts because of preference to pay a lower cost or a fear of future scarcity.
If you have people in your life who could give or lend you the money to pay for this course, please utilize that network.
Please make your assessments based on facts, not feelings.
How to actually use the discount:
Use discount code SOLIDARITY20 to pay $2280.
Use discount code SOLIDARITY50 to pay $1425.
Use discount code SOLIDARITY70 to pay $855.
Payment plan options for the discounted rates appear automatically at checkout once you’ve entered the discount code.
Discounts are on an honor system in good faith with no application process. At checkout, you’ll select from a drop down menu whether you’re utilizing the solidarity discount as a Black and/or Indigenous person, or as a person with other forms of marginalization. There are no other hoops to jump through.
