Calling all small business folks!
That’s you: coaches, therapists, healers, tarot readers, astrologers, bodyworkers, copy writers, virtual assistants, and other service-based small business owners!
Our world is in crisis, and the need for recovery funds is both urgent and ongoing. As small business folks in a pandemic economy, many of us don’t have tons of surplus funds to donate. We might not be able to be on the ground supporting folks. But that doesn’t mean we’re helpless in the face of disaster. We’ve got our skills and our time, and we can put those to use. We can leverage the funds our clients have towards disaster relief, even when we ourselves can’t afford to contribute much.
Here’s how it works:
Once a month, participants will donate the proceeds of our work to support communities in need. We started in September 2021 to support Hurricane Ida, and we collectively raised more than $10000. By pooling our funds towards one cause, we maximize our impact. By making our efforts monthly, we commit to ongoing support, rather than sporadic giving.
If you want to participate, fill out this SIGN UP FORM
Then let your audience know you’re participating and how they can schedule sessions that day.
At the end of the day of the 17th, donate directly to that month’s donor fund.
You’ll also fill out this DONATION TRACKING FORM to say how much you donated so we can keep a tally of our efforts. (Good for morale, good for future participants, etc.)
I’ll email you reminders periodically so we can keep the momentum going.
You can make this campaign work for you: Work your regular number of hours or add additional availability to your calendar. Charge your regular rate, or run a sale, or offer pay-what-you-can sessions. Cover your costs out of your revenue or donate all of it. Do what’s feasible and sustainable for you.
The need for recovery funds is both urgent and ongoing.
If you want to spread the word to other small business folks, you can post the graphic below on your social media. Direct reach outs tend to go a long way as well, so take a minute to message anyone who you think might want to participate.
I’ll be highlighting folks who are participating on my Instagram stories, so it’s a good promotional move for you as well. Win win!
Our businesses might be tiny, but together we can make big impact.
